Execution Gift Shop

This is a full view of the 'Execution Gift Shop' I created. It was meant to be a shop a family would visit after a day trip out to an execution house. Some of the items ‘sold’ in the shop were; Jigsaws, rubbers, key rings and t shirts featuring the famous image of Ruth Snyder being electrocuted. (the jigsaw and t shirts the image was screen printed onto them.) Posters and postcards featuring the images I created using miniature models, pens that look like syringes and pens that give you electric shocks to give the presence of the lethal injection and electrocution. T shirts featuring print screened images of Ruth Snyder being executed by electrocution. And many other inappropriate items for kids (they were just the main ones.) I enjoyed creating this piece. I put up all the shelves myself so that’s why it’s wonky. MY saying through out the whole experience was; ’ALL DONE BY EYE, YEAH. FUCK YOU RULER!’ I think you can tell this.
